Working on the Atalaya Trail

· by wendy · new mexico

When we stopped off in Santa Fe on a recommendation from a friend, we weren’t expecting it to be cold. Wasn’t Santa Fe supposed to be desert-y? When we left for our day hike on the Atalaya Trail, we definitely didn’t expect it to be snowing. I mean, it wasn’t at the bottom of the mountain!

Half way through the hike I received a call from someone I was waiting to hear from. It would likely mean good news. Sure enough, my client in Cincinnati had received an offer on a flip house that I staged. Yay! I actually love taking work calls while I’m traveling, mostly for the reason that the person on the other end has no idea what I’m up to at the moment. Little did he know that I was in New Mexico hiking in the snow. It’s just so random! Luckily I didn’t fall on my butt during our conversation. Did that twice afterwards.

Chalk this up as one of those things I’m glad we did as it was a beautiful hike, despite the falling snow and Wendies. Mental note: snow doesn’t always equal sucky times.
